We are a firm of Independent Financial Advisers providing individuals and companies with impartial advice that best meets their financial objectives. Under the Financial Services Act 1986, financial advisers are divided into two distinct categories, namely Tied Agents and Independent Financial Advisers (IFA's). Tied Agents can only provide financial advice on the products of the particular company or group of companies that they represent. IFA's, the group to which we belong, act as a representative of the client rather than a specific product provider. IFA's research and recommend products from the whole of the marketplace as opposed to one company. For most people, Independent Financial Advice is a crucial factor in finding the solution which best answers their financial needs. As with the majority of IFA's, we are regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). The regulatory framework introduced by the FSA is more stringent than financial regulation offered by other countries and involves the IFA in a substantial commitment both in terms of direct cost and time. Such regulation aspires towards good working practices within the industry and ensures that we can provide impartial advice by selecting the policies or investments which best suits our clients needs. The emphasis we place on training ensures that our entire staff acts on your behalf and in your best interests on all matters. As with most IFA's, we are remunerated by means of either charging a fee for our work or by commission which will be used to meet the costs. The amount of fees and commissions will normally be commensurate with the type of work and advice required and the complexity of the case. Fees and commissions will normally be notified in advance and it should be noted that often these amount to a tiny fraction of the savings on premiums or the greater maturity value that may be obtained.
